Hey Artimonier,
If I want to access a specific page nested inside the settings page (e.g. change avatar, or API key) do you know how to find the link for that?

Shane, try this out:
Copy this link to your browser:

Nice!
This first one works in Google Chrome — will it work in all browsers? (I'm wondering why you gave me 3 different versions)
My reasoning is to add a button to STE that would load a URL in the default browser — I don't think using Javascript will be a problem, I'll just tell the program that it's the URL and it should work in the same way as just pasting it in and pressing Enter.

Okay, am confused. Now none of them seem to be working ;-) Though the fact that it would only work once seems unlikely to me.

For some strange reason, it only works when you open a new tab and paste the link in.

You're right, and that is strange. It works if I open a new tab, but pasting it into an existing tab doesn't work. To the user, there isn't any difference, yet the browser is treating it differently.
Maybe it's a security feature: to prevent web pages from automatically redirecting to a new "URL" which is actually a nasty/unwelcome JavaScript program. Opening a new tab and pasting it in means that the user knows what they're pasting into the address bar, and is therefore allowed.
